Gearing Up for Advocacy |

While continuously instituting improvements in the structure and systems of the organisation to effectively stand by our commitments and add value, we are pleased to present to you the following updates with regard to our thrust of promoting the Internal Audit profession in the UAE:
|
| |
Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the IIA Headquarters for our participation in the 2010 IIA Global Internal Audit Survey. This is a major project of the IIA for 2010, which aims to provide analytical reports on the global Internal Audit practice.
|
| |
Creation of a Consulting Committee, which now operates courtesy of a pool of expert and qualified senior Internal Audit professionals who have volunteered to be part of the Committee’s programs, one of which is the conduct of an IIA-accredited External Quality Review. |
| |
Approval of the Corporate Membership Policy, which encourages the registration of more Internal Audit departments with the UAE-IAA. This will enable the Internal Audit departments to enjoy membership benefits such as discounted membership, training and consulting fees. |
| |
Formation of the Ethics Committee, which liaises directly with the IIA’s Global Ethics Committee. This would ensure UAE-IAA’s strong commitment to the ethical practice of Internal Auditing in the region by setting up a mechanism, which will actively promote adherence of its members to the profession’s Code of Ethics. |
| |
We continue to schedule appropriate training programs, develop policies to strengthen a membership base and generate funds to sustain the association’s programs. We also plan to enter into sustaining agreements with the IIA Headquarters for continuing professional development. |
| |
In closing, we seek your active participation and full support so that we can achieve more and reach our advocacy objective. |
